This is a spectacular service for those who cannot attend the National, for International Newf owners a chance to see the National (almost as it happens) and maybe for those of us too busy throughout the day to go back and watch what we missed.
Bottled Water
We are making available to all exhibitors at the National Specialty the ability to order cases of purified water for your dogs while at the National. The cost is minimal but the advantages are plenty. Please see the attached flyer and get your water orders in now. Bottled Water Order Form
From the Chair
Right now, VOLUNTEER is the name of the game, and we are looking for players! This is YOUR National, and it is all made possible by everyone who volunteers. Please consider pitching in and giving back to a show that gives you so much. All we are asking is for a couple hours of time out of your week while you are there. It is our hope that you will consider donating your time to any of the following areas of need:
Hospitality – Chairpersons - Cathy and John Borklund
Registration – Chairperson – Barbara Finch
Logo Item Sales – Chairperson – Chris Lamuraglia
Fine Arts and Brown Bag Auction – Chairpersons Brooke Moore-Beck and Karen Moore
So, please take a minute of your time to fill out the Volunteer Form in your National Specialty Packet, designate where you’d like to help, dates and time, and send it in to your Show Chair – Amy Lane. Thank you in advance for your willingness to give of your time.
FLASH is what we hope your cameras are doing to get those photos in to the 2011 National Specialty Photo Contest. The photos we have thus far are quite promising. It looks like the Photo Contest Calendar is shaping up to be one you won’t want to miss. Please visit the National Specialty website for a full list of contest rules and your entry form. You don’t need to be an NCA member to enter, and each member of your household can submit up to 3 photos. All the submitted photos will be on display throughout the week. Our secret judges will select the winners, and they will be announced at the Banquet on Saturday evening.
In keeping with exciting things we have planned for you at this year’s National, we’d like to call your attention to the Top Twenty event. It will be similar to the format in 2010, and it promises to be just as much fun. They are taking orders on Top Twenty Wear until April 1st. I put my order in today, and I hope you have or will be placing your order soon. The form is on the National Specialty website to order your tickets to the magical event as well as the magical apparel.
Speaking of apparel, we sure hope you don’t pass up the chance to place your orders for the National Specialty Logo Items. Again, my order is in and I hope yours is soon to follow! The online ordering site is available until April 1, 2011. This is the ONLY way to ensure the merchandise you wish to purchase is available and in your size at the Specialty. There will be only LIMITED LOGO ITEMS for purchase at the National. Think ahead and order online to make sure you get what you want. Visit the National Specialty website for the link to the online store. Happy shopping!
Just a few other reminders to be sure you have everything in order. The grooming space and handler parking have limited availability remaining, so get your reservations in quick. Also don’t forget about banquet tickets. You won’t want to miss a great meal, spending time with friends, and the unique table favors we have for you this year. We also don’t want you to miss out on the registration bags. Even if you can’t attend the Specialty, you can order a bag and have a friend pick it up for you. And you don’t want to pass up the chance to advertise in this year’s catalog. You may want to place an ad in memory of a Newfoundland person or dog. Maybe you want to have an ad for your kennel wishing all your dogs good luck at this year’s Specialty and include your favorite photo. Perhaps your Regional Club would like to wish their members success at the show in 2011. The possibilities are endless, and we encourage you to take advantage while you can. Check the National Specialty website for ad forms and deadlines.
Lastly, we would like to thank all of you for being a part of this special show and making it a success year after year. We are excited about 2011 and hope to exceed your expectations with the new ideas we have implemented. Make the drive, come see for yourself --- you won’t be disappointed ---just dress warm.
